Twenty-Five Years to Life Sentence Not Improper for Failure to Register as Sex Offender

How our courts monitor the location of registered sex offenders is a hot topic, as it is well known that many of the registered sex offenders are neither violent nor will not re-offend.  Yet there is a small percentage who will re-offend because the urge to engage in such conduct is well understood to be often resistant to treatment and can re-emerge after decades of dormancy. Consequently, for public safety (or at least this is the purported rationale), there are severe penalties for failure to register as a sex offender.  Read about his offense in the following case summary.
