Judge Makes Mistake in Doubling Sentence in DUI Case

Whenever a judge sentences someone in a DUI to six years in state prison, it raises curious questions as to what the defendant’s prior criminal history included.  In the following case, defendant did have a prior conviction that was considered a “strike” offense, but there was no transcript from the hearing when he was sentenced.  Why was this pivotal in reducing his sentence to three years? Click on the following link to find out.
