May a Judge Disqualify Public Defender without a Conflict Declared?

Whenever there are multiple attorneys representing the same defendant, there is a tension as to which attorney should speak on behalf of the defendant when addressing the court.  Sometimes, it is easy to decide which attorney should step forward.  When it is not so clear, a judge will want to make the decision for judicial economy.  However, can the judge disqualify an attorney, for example the public defender, if there is no conflict?  Click on the following link to find out.
