Multiple Criminal Cases? Can They Be Joined? Split Up?

Our clients sometimes run into a batch of bad luck.  They may face multiple criminal cases with different arraignment dates and possibly, duplicative punishment.  Other times, a prosecutor may split up one arrest with two charges into two different cases, raising issues of double jeopardy.  What are the rules on such issues?  Does it matter how much time separates the violations of the law?  Click on the following link to find out –
