May I Be a Sheriff with a Conviction for Battery (PC 242)?

In today’s difficult economic times, a job with the government is often seen as a stable job with solid medical benefits and a retirement plan.  The pay used to be considered below comparable civilian jobs, but now that is no longer the case.  Thus, such government jobs are increasingly attractive.  But can one obtain such a job with a conviction, i.e. a conviction for battery if one wants to become a sheriff?  To read an answer to this question, click on the following link.
