Conviction Reversed for Ex-Girlfriend’s Tirade to Jury?

It is well-known or at least understood that judges are adverse to reversing a verdict for just any claim of undue prejudice. What if the ex-girlfriend of defendant loudly tells jurors outside the courtroom that her ex-boyfriend is a piece of poop and would do anything for money (while he is facing a charge of theft and possession of stolen firearms)? An appellate court denied such a motion, finding that defendant did not show that the tirade, even if heard by jurors, raised a credible risk of affecting the outcome of the case.
